RESPONSIBILITIES

The role involves warmly and curiously welcoming our visitors to, and telling stories about, our operations at our three Stockholm museums: the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities (Medelhavsmuseet), the Museum of Ethnography (Etnografiska museet), the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities (Östasiatiska museet), as well as our digital offerings. As a museum host, you will circulate in the public areas of the museum, answer visitors' questions in person, by phone, or digitally, staff the entrance and shop, conduct daily public tours, and carry out visitor surveys. Furthermore, you are responsible for the daily supervision of exhibitions and public spaces, as well as acting in alarm and emergency situations. The role also includes preparation, execution, and restoration for venue rental and program activities.

This museum host role includes a focus on the shop. You will work with merchandise and inventory management, daily supervision of the shop, and actively contribute to the shop environment and product display. The work is expected to develop in close collaboration with the shop manager and other employees, primarily within the Public Encounters department.

As a museum host with a special focus on retail, you are part of a host team. You will have scheduled working hours, meaning work during mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. You will contribute with engagement and ideas and collaborate well with colleagues to best meet all visitors' needs and offer a first-class visitor experience.

The position is a fixed-term contract until June 1, 2027, with a possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Requirements, Formal

• Completed relevant upper secondary education (high school diploma)
• Experience working independently with administration
• Experience in customer service and hospitality within the visitor or tourism industry
• Experience working with conference technology
• Experience handling individual visitors as well as small and large groups
• Experience with ticketing, booking, and cash handling
• Good ability to express yourself clearly in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
