Opportunity to Apply for Study Grant

Are you a nursing student interested in working at Psychiatry Ward 3A after completing your education and graduating as a nurse? We offer those who start semester 6 of the nursing program and choose to begin their career with us after completing their studies the opportunity to apply for a study grant during their final semester (semester 6).

Grow into the Role

As a newly graduated nurse at Akademiska Sjukhuset, you will enjoy varied tasks and a secure, educational start in your new profession. Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large. To give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us. KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for newly graduated nurses employed by Region Uppsala, aimed at sharpening your clinical skills, networking with other newly graduated nurses, and having reflection time with experienced nurses. Our Operations

The Psychiatry Department provides highly specialized care for individuals with severe mental illnesses. Psychiatry Ward 3A belongs to the Section for Affective Disorders. We are 24-hour care wards with 13 beds for the investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients primarily suffering from affective disorders, such as bipolar syndrome, severe depression, and anxiety disorders. On Psychiatry Ward 3A, we also treat patients with eating disorder issues. Four of the beds are dedicated to this treatment.

Your Qualifications and Competence

We are looking for a nursing student starting Semester 6. You are interested in psychiatry and wish to start working at Ward 3A after completing your graduation. We place great importance on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious attitude and good teamwork skills.

What We Offer

We offer you a permanent position as a Nursing Assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a Nurse.

You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your graduation. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant or care assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with duty requirements for all hours of the day, so-called rotational duty. Extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records will be taken prior to appointment.
