We are looking for a Strategic Buyer for a long-term assignment with our client in the defense industry. About the Role

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for driving and developing commercial arrangements with suppliers – from strategy and contracting to follow-up and supplier development. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in production, development, marketing, and aftermarket to ensure that procurement solutions support both business goals and technical requirements.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies within defined areas
• Negotiate commercial terms and draft supplier agreements
• Lead and coordinate supplier teams in collaboration with other functions
• Establish and further develop relationships with both new and existing suppliers
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability
• Drive initiatives and improvement work with structure and purposefulness

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with several years of experience working strategically in roles such as Strategic Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or Project Manager. You thrive at the intersection of business, technology, and operational development, and have the ability to understand how procurement strategies impact both profitability and technical results.

• University degree in Economics or another relevant discipline
• 3 years of experience from business-driven roles in strategic procurement, tendering, or project management
• Strong negotiation skills in complex and international environments
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience from the defense, aviation, or manufacturing industries
• Interest in technology and understanding of total cost perspectives over the lifecycle
• Experience working in larger organizations with cross-functional collaboration
