Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees meet with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools around the municipality every day. Every student should be able to leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good conditions to meet adult life and the future.

Your new workplace

Vallens School, located 10 minutes from Sundsvall, is beautifully situated with a fantastic surroundings. Here, 175 students from grades F-6 attend school. Our work is characterized by a systematic focus on reading, writing, and mathematics, where screening and analysis conversations are used to identify needs early and follow each student's development. We work in a subject-teacher system, which means that each teacher is responsible for the subjects they are assigned. In the working group for grades 4-6, four teachers collaborate, and some lessons are strengthened by teachers from grades 1-3 who provide resource time in the lower secondary stage.

We have low turnover among teachers, which is a clear sign of high job satisfaction and good conditions for performing your work. At Vallen, we actively work for a sense of "we," where collaboration and cooperation are key words. We strive for close collaboration with the students, where we work for the students' well-being, development, and learning through our combined strengths and competencies. Our systematic quality work is based on identified needs in the operations. Through our working method, the working group conducts school development in a concrete way in everyday life to create positive effects on students' learning.

We are a positive and solution-oriented team that creates motivation and participation among each other. Lead teachers in Swedish and mathematics drive the development work, and in that work, together with other teachers, good conditions and results for good goal fulfillment are created. Students who leave Vallen do so with good conditions for further studies.

How you contribute in the role of teacher

Your main tasks will be teaching in grades 4-6 and mentorship in grade 5. You will be part of the subject group for Mathematics/Science and the working group for grades 4-6. As a teacher with us, you take responsibility for being a secure role model, a clear leader, and actively contribute to the school's development.

Your competence and experience

You have a teaching license and adequate education for teaching in the lower secondary stage. You motivate and inspire students and work with relational leadership together with your colleagues. Together, you plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on science and proven experience.

We want to create the best conditions for learning through varied, inclusive, and student-centered teaching that meets each student in their knowledge progression. It is important that you thrive in a collaborative way of working and see the strength in planning and reflecting together with colleagues.
