Job Responsibilities
As a substitute staff member, you will be employed by the Competence Recruitment Unit, but you can work within several areas of operation within elderly care and disability support.
Our operations consist of:
- Specialized housing (care and nursing homes/dementia care)
- Ordinary housing (home care services)
- LSS housing (support and care for people with disabilities)
- Personal assistance
- Social psychiatry (housing support and service housing within social psychiatry)

A job with us is diverse and varies according to the needs of the operations. The starting point is to ensure that every person's need for support, care, and nursing is met. The work mainly involves helping and supporting the individual in their daily life. Your tasks may include personal care, support during meals, social interaction, daily activities, cleaning, medication management, and documentation.
We offer both scheduled shifts and hourly substitute positions during the spring and summer. Working hours vary according to the needs of the operations, and you can work days, evenings, weekends, or nights. If you are hired, you will receive an introduction that includes both practical and theoretical parts so that you feel secure with us and with your tasks!
Qualifications
We seek and value people with different experiences and backgrounds. For us, the most important thing is that you have a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and a strong interest in working with and helping other people. As a person, we believe you are responsible, have good communication skills, and are sensitive to users, relatives, and colleagues. You are flexible in the face of changed circumstances, can work independently, and together with others. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
At the Welfare Administration, everyone is welcome, regardless of whether you have previous experience or not! If you have completed or are currently studying in any of the following areas, we consider it an advantage:
- Healthcare and social care
- Children and leisure
- Support assistant
- Alternatively, other education we deem relevant for the position
It is also an advantage if you have work experience within any of our areas of operation.
For the job, you must be at least 18 years old and have access to BankID. You must also master Swedish in both speech and writing to, among other things, communicate with users, perform care documentation, and receive medication delegation. For some of our operations, a B-driver's license and access to a car are required. For work within all our operations within elderly care and disability support, you must also be able to produce a valid extract from the criminal record register before employment.
You must also be able to produce a valid passport or national ID card to strengthen your citizenship status.

Örnsköldsvik Municipality is a smoke-, alcohol-, drug-, and gambling-free workplace.

Approximately 2,500 employees work in the Welfare Administration. The administration is governed by the Welfare Committee with the administration's mission statement as a starting point - "Together we facilitate people's opportunity to live a meaningful life" - we work to achieve the municipality's vision: We build best together.
In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents are a passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Tax Agency, or another ID document that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, presentation of extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required. We appreciate knowledge of Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are classified for security reasons, so security checks may take place. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
