We are now looking for an electrical designer for a leading player in the power industry, with a clear focus on hydropower, substation projects, and the modernization of existing facilities. Here, you will work on technically advanced and socially critical projects where your experience truly makes a difference.

We are seeking experienced electrical designers throughout Sweden. The head office is located in Västerås, but for those who are self-motivated and accustomed to driving their work independently, there is an opportunity for 100% remote work from another location.

About the Role

As a Senior Control Installation Designer, you work with the design of control installations for switchgear and transformer substations within the range of 10–400 kV.

The focus is on hydropower and the modernization of existing facilities, where the integration of new systems into operational environments is a central part of the work.

You are responsible for technical solutions within control, regulation, and protection, ensuring that the design meets contract requirements, standards, and current regulations.

The role suits you if you have a deep understanding of power systems and thrive in complex projects where technology, function, and operational reliability are in focus.

You work closely with project managers, designers, and technical specialists and have significant influence over both execution and technical decisions.

Example of Tasks

• Design of control installations for switchgear and substations (10–400 kV)
• Modernization and upgrading of existing power and hydropower facilities
• Preparation of: Single-line diagrams, circuit and installation diagrams, function and interlocking diagrams
• Integration of new control systems into existing facilities
• Technical review and updating of existing documentation
• Participation in FAT, SAT, and commissioning
• Technical advice in projects and tender work

We are looking for you who

• Have at least 5 years of experience in control installation design within power (10–400 kV)
• Have experience from hydropower, substation projects, or other complex power projects
• Have worked with the modernization of existing facilities and operational environments
• Are accustomed to working independently and taking technical responsibility in projects
• Have experience with FAT, SAT, and commissioning
• Master tools such as Eplan, E3, Master Concept, or similar
• Speak and write Swedish fluently and have good knowledge of English
