ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Junior Category Manager, you step into the heart of the business.
You work closely with the Category Manager but are expected to quickly take independent responsibility in both analysis and business operations. This is the role for you if you want to understand why something sells, what we should do about it, and then actually get to implement it.
You move between data, suppliers, and internal teams, driving everything from assortment to campaigns and your own product initiatives.
You will mainly:
- Analyze sales, margins, and trends – and turn them into actions
- Support and develop category and assortment strategies
- Take responsibility for your own, smaller categories and drive them commercially
- Conduct competitor and market analyses that are actually used
- Drive Private Label projects from idea to launch
- Have ongoing dialogue with suppliers regarding products, campaigns, and inventory
- Collaborate with marketing, purchasing, and other teams to get things done
- Participate in developing how we work – not just follow existing processes
ABOUT YOU
You are at the beginning of your journey, but not in your ambition.
You have likely worked for a year or so in retail, purchasing, or product and feel that you want more. More responsibility, more business, more impact.
You like digging into numbers, but what really drives you is understanding what they mean and what can be done better.
We believe that you:
- Have at least 1 year of experience from retail, purchasing, or similar
- Are sharp in Excel and comfortable working with data
- Have a commercial mindset and like driving results
- Are structured, detail-oriented, and get things done
- Are communicative and thrive in dialogue – both internally and externally
- Are curious, unpretentious, and want to develop quickly
Post-secondary education in economics, business, or similar is meritorious – but most important is your drive and engagement.
