Do you want to make a societal impact and contribute to Sweden's independence in the world? We are looking for technical intelligence analysts with a special focus on data analysis who want to help develop methods, prototypes, and technical solutions in our work producing intelligence. At FRA, we work with unique tasks – for Sweden's security and integrity.
Your Mission
As a technical analyst, you belong to the Signals Intelligence Department, which conducts signals surveillance in accordance with the Act on Signals Surveillance in Defence Intelligence Operations. The department works with the collection of raw material, processing, and analysis, and delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's commissioning authorities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to use and develop your data analysis skills to solve complex problems and streamline various parts of the operation, from collection to intelligence reporting. You will collaborate with other technical intelligence analysts and analysts with specific subject matter expertise within an intelligence area, as well as with software developers to move prototypes into production.
In the role of technical analyst, your main responsibilities include contributing to intelligence production by:
- Analyzing and visualizing large datasets
- Developing data access in a central data warehouse for metrics
- Developing methodologies and processes for data analysis
- Producing statistical reports and dashboards for decision support and follow-up/evaluation
- Transforming large and complex datasets into insights to help the agency make well-founded decisions
Domestic and international travel occurs as part of the assignment. The position involves handling classified information, so it is important that you are comfortable handling such data.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, or another technical discipline considered equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of statistics
- Extensive professional experience in data analysis and handling large and complex datasets
- Experience with various tools and libraries for data analysis, e.g., Python and Pandas or Polars
- Fluency in writing, understanding, and communicating in Swedish and English
We consider it meritorious if you have:
- Acted as a mentor or team lead for a work group in the field
- Worked with quantitative business monitoring
- Experience in data communication (IP) and networks
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience applying AI solutions
- Worked within intelligence services
- Experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
- Experience with ETL development in e.g., Java or Python
- Knowledge of requirements gathering and dashboard development in BI tools

More Information
The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. Before employment, you will undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be mobilized in wartime.
