About the Department

The Department of Surgery and Urology provides specialist care in surgery, urology, breast care, and endoscopy. The department includes inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and a day-care unit, with a focus on safe care, high competence, and good quality for the county's residents.

On the endoscopy unit, doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, and medical secretaries work together in teams. Here, you will find a learning and stimulating work environment characterized by strong cohesion, high professionalism, and a patient-centered approach. The department handles both planned and emergency care within surgery and IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease).

Your Responsibilities

As an assistant nurse on the endoscopy unit, you will have a varied job where you primarily assist with colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, and gastroscopies.

As a regular assistant, there are development opportunities which include:

• Assisting doctors with ERCP, PEG, acute bleeding, and stent insertions in the operating room.
• Participating in endoscopic examinations for both children and adults in the operating room.
• Being responsible for your own clinic during capsule endoscopy.

We are looking for someone who has

• Approved education as an assistant nurse. In addition to your grades as an assistant nurse, you must have a certificate of your professional license as an assistant nurse from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) or a certificate stating that you were employed as an assistant nurse on a permanent basis on July 1, 2023.
• A few years of professional experience.

Experience in surgery, endoscopy, or medical/IBD care is meritorious.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with a six-month probation period, start date by agreement. The position is day-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 7:30–17:00 and Fridays 7:30-12:30.
