Laboratory Medicine in Dalarna consists of the specialties Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Chemistry, and Clinical Microbiology, where we work across boundaries between different departments. Our operations are county-wide with laboratories in Avesta, Borlänge, Falun, Ludvika, and Mora. Due to significant investments in Laboratory Medicine Dalarna in recent years, you will work in fresh, newly renovated premises with modern equipment.

Are you the next colleague to our team at the serology laboratory at the Blood Center in Falun?

We are primarily looking for you who are a biomedical laboratory scientist, or alternatively educated with a focus on laboratory work that is assessed to meet the needs, and with a passed course in transfusion medicine and immunology.

After an individual introduction, you will join a work team focused on providing good service to our customers of blood products and test results. Here you have the ability to work independently, make your own decisions, and at the same time develop collaboration. Working with us involves continuous evening and weekend shifts. The position is a permanent employment, and the working hours are scheduled both during the day and at inconvenient times - but not night shifts. Start date is by agreement.

Your main responsibilities are laboratory work compatible with immunology, blood group serology, and transfusion medicine. This includes instrument handling, manual methods, result assessments, technical approval, troubleshooting, as well as customer and referrer contacts. Work with component preparation may be included in the role, as well as blood donation phlebotomy depending on your experience and profile.

Requirements:

• Authorized biomedical laboratory scientist, or alternatively other education with a laboratory focus
• Passed course in transfusion medicine and immunology
