Let’s Gig is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager within electrical, water/sewage, HVAC, ventilation, and control systems for a long-term consulting assignment in Southeast Sweden.

About the Role

You will work as a Construction Manager in a large-scale operation and maintenance assignment related to technical facilities within road and infrastructure environments. The role suits you if you are confident in construction management, technical monitoring, contractor contact, and field work, and have a good understanding of electrical installations and technical systems.

You will act as the client's representative in daily operations, working closely with project management, contractors, and other technical functions. The role does not involve leading the contractor's production, but rather following up, coordinating, checking, documenting, and driving issues forward in a structured manner.

Workplace and Scope

Your base of operations can be one of the following locations:

  • Jönköping
  • Kalmar
  • Linköping

The work also includes field visits within Southeast Sweden. Therefore, you must be able to travel within the region as needed. A valid B-class driver's license is required.

Examples of Duties

  • Participate in and document construction meetings and other project meetings.
  • Perform spot checks, inventories, and site inspections in the field.
  • Follow up on operation and maintenance measures.
  • Check and update facility information in digital systems.
  • Monitor the status of facilities and report defects, deficiencies, and risks.
  • Order operation and maintenance measures from contracted contractors.
  • Attend work that affects the function of facilities.
  • Review safety plans, project plans, work preparations, and self-inspections.
  • Prepare documentation for operation and maintenance contracts as well as reinvestments.
  • Perform and review electrical design and electrical inspections.
  • Review technical documentation prior to the handover of new facilities.
  • Manage digital systems and documentation.
  • Maintain a personal diary and contribute to structured reporting.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • At least 2 years of documented experience in the last 5 years in a responsible or deputy role such as project manager, construction manager, site supervisor, or equivalent.
  • The experience must relate to electrical installations.
  • Technical education at minimum upper secondary school level, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid BAS-P and BAS-U certificates.
  • Valid training in Work on Road (APV) step 2.1 and 2.2 or equivalent according to current requirements.
  • Valid B-class driver's license.
  • Very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work in the assignment on a full-time basis or according to an agreed arrangement from the start of the assignment.

Desirable Experience

It is highly merit-worthy if you have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Construction management within electrical, control, automation, water/sewage, HVAC, or ventilation.
  • Operation and maintenance contracts.
  • Pumping stations, technical facilities, rest areas, road, or infrastructure environments.
  • Electrical inspections or electrical design.
  • Contract law, AB, ABT, and AMA.
  • Safety reviews, risk inventories, and self-inspections.
  • Client role or monitoring of contractors.
  • Digital facility systems, document management, and technical reporting.
  • GUS Maximo, Chaos, Projektportalen, NAVA, or similar systems.
  • SS-EN 50110-1.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is independent, detail-oriented, and confident in dialogue with both clients and contractors. You need to be able to drive issues forward, be clear in your documentation, and have the ability to quickly understand technical and practical problems in the field.

You are used to working in a structured manner, taking responsibility, and creating order in complex technical environments. You also need to be collaborative and able to act professionally in the role of client representative.

This is a good assignment for you if you

  • Want a long-term assignment with high occupancy.
  • Have a strong technical background in electrical and installation work.
  • Enjoy the combination of field work, documentation, meetings, and contract monitoring.
  • Want to work in a larger technical context with socially important infrastructure.
  • Have experience in being the one who ties technical issues together, follows up on contractors, and ensures that the work is performed correctly.
