ReEnerfy is now looking for an experienced and engaged Project Manager for a long-term assignment with one of our clients, one of Sweden's most important players in the nuclear industry. About the assignment

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, control, and execution of decommissioning activities related to the handling, movement, and transport of high-level radioactive materials and fuel rods from nuclear power plants to storage.

You will lead projects through their entire lifecycle and ensure that operations are conducted with the highest focus on safety, quality, economy, and schedule.

The role involves close collaboration with specialists within nuclear technology, radiation protection, operations, maintenance, decommissioning, and external contractors.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate projects within nuclear decommissioning and fuel handling
  • Plan and monitor schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear regulations and authority requirements
  • Coordinate activities between internal operations and external suppliers
  • Identify, analyze, and manage project and safety risks
  • Drive issues related to the transport and interim storage of nuclear fuel
  • Ensure documentation, reporting, and traceability
  • Report project status to steering groups and management
  • Ensure that work is carried out according to the ALARA principle
  • Handle changes, deviations, and safety-related issues

Required qualifications

  • Master of Science in Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent technical education
  • At least 5–10 years of experience in project management within industrial operations
  • Documented experience from nuclear operations
  • Experience with decommissioning projects, major modification projects, or similar complex industrial projects
  • Experience working with high-level radioactive materials or used nuclear fuel
  • Experience from security-classified or regulatorily controlled operations
  • Good understanding of radiation protection and radiological risks
  • Experience in risk management and safety control
  • Fluent Swedish and good English in both speech and writing

Meritorious

  • Experience from nuclear decommissioning
  • Experience in fuel handling or interim storage
  • Experience working with the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM)
  • Certification in project management such as PMP, IPMA, or PRINCE2
  • Experience in contract management
  • Experience from any nuclear power plant
  • Experience with safety culture within nuclear operations
