About the role

In the role of IT Specialist for Balancing and Electricity Market, you are primarily responsible for carrying out and supporting IT-adjacent administration activities. You will participate in change management, further development, and lifecycle management of systems and applications. In the role, you will among other things:

• Contribute to keeping systems and components updated, tested, and administered according to established processes.
• Collaborate with business operations, administration management, and other IT roles in the ongoing administration work.
• Contribute to identifying, highlighting, and handling IT security deficiencies.

You will belong to the Balancing Applications unit, which is responsible for the administration, operation, and maintenance of applications that contribute to maintaining balance in the power system. The unit works in close cooperation with the business operations to identify, develop, and put into operation solutions that meet existing needs. The unit is part of Svenska kraftnät's IT division, which has approximately 800 employees.

About you

Requirements

We are looking for you who have strong collaboration skills, as much of the work is done together with other colleagues. You are a results-oriented person who wants to contribute and move forward in what you undertake and are accustomed to delivering against deadlines. Analyzing problems and coming up with solutions is something you see as a strength in your work.

Furthermore, you have an education in IT, systems science, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent. You also have:

• Deep technical knowledge within the balancing area and a good understanding of the interaction between the power system, balancing markets, support services, electricity settlement, and IT support.
• Experience in setting up and working with DevOps processes in critical operations.
• At least 10 years of experience in IT administration, system administration, application administration, or equivalent operational IT work.
• Technical competence in Linux/Unix, CI/CD, automation, Java/Python, SQL/XML, and experience with system integration.
• Experience working according to ITIL, PM3, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with agile methods such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Ability to take strategic responsibility for the lifecycle of systems and contribute to long-term technical development.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of:

• Experience in technical project management, leadership, or technical responsibility in larger projects.
• Knowledge within OpenShift and Kafka.
• Experience in system integration and architecture.
• RH Fuse, JMS, Webservices.
• Experience with security reviews and regulatory requirements.
