Permanent full-time position within the Health and Medical Services Administration, located at the Urology Department, Ward 38. We apply individual schedule planning.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse at our urological department, you will work with patients treated for a broad spectrum of urological diseases, including kidney and urinary tract diseases, prostate issues, and cancer. We care for both patients with acute conditions and those undergoing planned surgical procedures. Our patient group is diverse and comes from all over Sweden. A key factor in our high patient satisfaction is our focus on being a leading department, both in urology and in workplace environment.

In your role, you will handle a range of medical-technical tasks, such as infusions, blood transfusions, catheters, drains, and central lines. We invest in continuous competence development for our staff, through both regional courses and our own internal training ranging from sepsis to transfer techniques. As a nurse on Ward 38, you will play a central role in the care process, working closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest possible quality and safety for our patients. Areas of responsibility:

  • Assess and document the patient's health status
  • Perform medical treatments and provide nursing care
  • Participate in teamwork and collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other professions
  • Provide support and information to patients and their relatives

The department has a clinical quality nurse who serves as a mentor for new colleagues. The department also employs a discharge nurse who is responsible for contact with the municipality and participates in discharge planning. Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with experience or a strong interest in working within urology or surgery. You are empathetic, responsible, and have good communication skills. You thrive both working independently and as part of a team, and you are flexible and can handle a varied workflow.

About the Operations

The Urology Operations area conducts activities at two of the region's three hospitals: Örebro University Hospital and Karlskoga Hospital. We have a broad urological operation covering both basic urology and most types of highly specialized urological surgery. We also have a broad research activity and an educational mandate within both nursing and medical education. At Örebro University Hospital, there is a care ward, an operating department, a day surgery and shockwave therapy ward, an administrative unit, an R&D unit, and a clinic.
