About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

The Finance Department consists of two units: Procurement and Accounting, and Planning and Follow-up (REPU). REPU, in turn, consists of national controllers, a central accounting function, and two sections for planning and follow-up support. We are now looking for a controller for one of the sections, based in Norrköping. You will be part of a group of departmental controllers responsible for controlling the agency's support departments.

Job Description

Your task is to support the Security Department and the Finance Department with controlling and analysis. You will primarily serve as the natural support to managers within the processes for budget and operational planning, project and operational follow-up, and forecasting. You will actively participate in operations and play a key role in the department's strive to achieve effective management. You will also participate in the work with the agency's annual report and budget proposals.

The work involves both analyzing and producing relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributing to improving economic planning and follow-up. Additionally, you will support managers and take the initiative to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in economics or another degree deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Recent controller experience from larger companies or agencies
• Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Very good analytical skills
• Very good knowledge of Excel

The following are also meritorious:

• Experience from the ERP system (UBW or Agresso)
• Experience from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Familiarity with how AI could simplify controller work.
