The Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre (FMUndSäkC) is now looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Officer for the Personnel Department, based in Uppsala.

Applicant Unit

The Staff Unit supports and creates the conditions for the Commander of FMUndSäkC and the Centre as a whole to plan, implement, and follow up on its operations. In addition to support functions such as HR, Security, General, Logistics, Production, IT, Exercise/Training, Economics, and Communications, there is also support from quartermasters and secretaries.

Main Responsibilities:

As an Occupational Health and Safety Officer, you are responsible for organizing, coordinating, and developing the systematic occupational health and safety work at the unit. You are the expert resource for the operation within occupational health and safety, and through your competence and commitment, you support leadership, other managers, and the safety organization with specialized knowledge.

Your responsibilities include:

  • serving as rapporteur at the FMUndSäkC Occupational Health and Safety Committee
  • responding to referrals and analyzing occupational health-related surveys, as well as proposing measures
  • participating in inspections and controls of the operations
  • working with gender equality and equity initiatives
  • participating in occupational health-related investigations as needed
  • training personnel in the field of occupational health and safety
  • supporting the handling of work injuries, accidents, and near-misses
  • participating in the Swedish Armed Forces network for occupational health and safety officers
  • coordinating the unit's veteran and family support
  • keeping up to date with occupational health legislation and developments in the field

Qualifications

  • University education focused on occupational health and safety, or another relevant direction or education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Good knowledge of the occupational health and safety field and familiarity with the laws, regulations, directives, and requirements we as employers must follow regarding occupational health and safety
  • Current work experience of independently driving, coordinating, and developing operational and strategic occupational health and safety work with good results
  • Documented experience in providing advisory support to management and leadership
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Category B driver's license (manual transmission)

Personal Qualities

As an Occupational Health and Safety Officer, you have good collaboration skills and can easily work in mixed work groups and projects. You thrive working independently and take responsibility for planning, prioritizing, and driving your tasks while promoting development and improvement. You feel secure in your role and can communicate with both large and small groups with varying competency levels within the subject area. You are service-oriented and flexible towards both internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail, high integrity, and security awareness are also important.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience within the Swedish Armed Forces or another public or state employer
  • Good knowledge of and experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' systematic occupational health and safety work
  • Good knowledge of systematic fire protection work and chemicals
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Experience working with crisis support

The Centre is common to the Armed Forces and was established in 1998 when the Air Force and Army intelligence schools, as well as the Defence Language School, were consolidated into the Uppsala garrison.
