About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Region Mid, operates in Uppland, Södermanland, Västmanland, Värmland, and Närke. The Probation Service Mälardalen area consists of probation offices in Uppsala, Nyköping, Västerås, and Eskilstuna, and we are now looking for an Intelligence Operator for the Probation Service in Uppsala.

Job Description

In the current position as an Intelligence Operator, the main tasks involve working within the intelligence cycle to improve the assessment of clients from a risk and security perspective, as well as supporting security work within the probation service. You will be responsible for intelligence work within the Probation Service in Uppsala. The role involves business travel.

The duties include contributing to the integration of intelligence work into operations, thereby developing local security work and increasing the quality of client work. You need to be able to work independently within your area of responsibility while contributing to the overall picture at the workplace and fostering good collaboration. This requires strong communication and social skills. The role also involves external collaboration with other agencies.

You will work with assignments formulated at local, regional, and central levels. You will actively and independently produce intelligence reports, meet the local need for operational intelligence activities, and support the central intelligence function. You will have a specific assignment to develop intelligence work within the probation service.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have good analytical skills, with interest and commitment to information security as well as security and intelligence issues. You are self-motivated and work persistently to achieve desired results, always acting with the best interests of the operation in focus. You weigh together complex information and different types of considerations, showing judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. Your decisions are based on correct assessments and prioritizations. You have good teamwork skills and understand the importance of good professional relationships in all contexts.

We are looking for you who have:

• An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in social work, behavioral science, or social sciences, or alternatively another academic education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good computer literacy and IT knowledge.
• Category B driver's license.

The following are also meritorious:

• Education within intelligence activities.
• Highly meritorious service within an intelligence function.
• Experience from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's operations, preferably from the probation service.
• Experience of internal and external collaboration and good knowledge of the assignments of collaborating agencies.
• Experience with working in relational databases is particularly meritorious.
• Good knowledge of the English language.
• Other language skills.
