F 16 is responsible for the Uppsala Garrison and the operation of Uppsala Airport. The wing is also responsible for the 24/7, year-round surveillance of Swedish airspace and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will become part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the international situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the unit

1621. Air Base Company is responsible for maintaining airport operations and belongs to 162. Air Base Battalion. 6211. SKYFFARB Platoon belongs to 1621. Air Base Company and performs the following tasks: Field maintenance service, Airport and base rescue service, duty training for conscripts, CBRN service, and field work service (munitions clearance and runway repair). We are looking for new colleagues for 6211. Airfield Rescue Platoon (SKYFFARB) within the Airport and Base Rescue Service.

Main responsibilities

In your position, you will work together in the rescue group to maintain operations at Uppsala Airport at all conflict levels (crisis, war, and peace). As a firefighter, you will work in various roles depending on the type of alarm you respond to, for example: smoke diver, vehicle driver, medic, toolman, or cut-and-unhook specialist. In addition to operating the airport rescue service, you will handle other tasks within, for example, base rescue services (building fires, traffic accidents, chemical spills) and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear substances). As a firefighter, you work with high readiness and short response times. The rescue group is required by the airport to be able to go from alarm to the start of firefighting operations on, for example, a JAS 39 Gripen in just 90 seconds.

The role of firefighter also means that you are part of the wartime organization as a combatant, as you will participate in, among other things, combat training. The work is normally performed during daytime, Monday to Friday, but evening, night, and 24-hour shifts, as well as training activities, are also common.

• Good physical fitness (equivalent to FMFysS level 2)
• B-driver's license

Since we work closely together in rotating teams and solve tasks in varying environments, good teamwork skills and a lack of ego are crucial. QUALIFICATIONS

• Approved conscript service training
• Completed or ongoing duty training within rescue services
• Experience in Skyffarb/R3 service
• Experience from airport or municipal rescue services
• Experience from working at an airport
• Heavy civil driving licenses (C, D, E) and/or Heavy military driving permits

Other

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.

Employment level: Full-time

Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.

Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend shifts may occur during training activities.

Start date: As soon as possible, according to agreement.
