Your daily life as an SOS Operator at 112

As an SOS Operator at SOS Alarm, you become a crucial link in helping people in acute situations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can handle stress, and have a strong sense of structure and responsibility, you might be the person we are looking for!

"One of the most enjoyable things about this job is that no two days are alike." You will meet all kinds of people, questions, and problems. Your main task is to answer incoming calls from people in distress. As an SOS Operator, you answer the emergency number 112 and serve as the caller's first point of contact before other help resources arrive.

112 calls cover everything from acute medical cases, traffic accidents, and fires to calls where someone needs a reassuring voice. With interview support and adapted technology, you ensure that the right resources are sent to the right place at the right time. During ongoing calls, you collaborate with colleagues and external resources such as the police, rescue services, and ambulance. The work is often carried out at a high pace, with the person in need always in focus. The work is performed at the SOS center, where you sit in an open environment together with your colleagues.

Training

To give you the right prerequisites for success as an SOS Operator for 112 and security alarms, employment begins with comprehensive training at our training unit in Kista, interspersed with practical training at the center where you have a supervisor. Therefore, you must be able to be away from home for occasional weeks as the training is conducted physically on-site in Kista. We cover all costs associated with travel to our training unit.

We are looking for you

We assume that you always want to help the person calling and handle the call from start to finish. You appreciate clear guidelines, are confident in yourself, and decisive – regardless of which call you handle. The role involves collaboration with colleagues and external actors, which requires good teamwork skills. You are a friendly and receptive person who finds it easy to talk to people.

Since SOS Alarm's operations run 24/7, you as an SOS Operator have a shift-based position, which means you work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

We would like you to
  • Have at least three years of work experience
  • Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
  • Have good computer skills and enjoy working in various and complex systems
  • Have good multitasking skills as the job requires you to handle several tasks simultaneously
It is an advantage if you
  • Have experience working irregular hours
  • Have experience from healthcare, emergency services, alarm centers, or similar
  • Are a nurse assistant or have other relevant experience
We offer you

As an employee at SOS Alarm, we see your well-being as a focus area, and we know that a balance between work and private life is crucial for a sustainable and meaningful working life. Therefore, as an employee, you have the following employment terms and benefits:

  • Reduced working hours
  • Collective agreement and occupational pension according to ITP
  • SOS Campus – a learning library for continuous learning and competence development
