Organization Description

The Social Services Administration operates under legislation including the Social Services Act, the Health and Medical Services Act, and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons. Guided by democratic principles, the administration aims to promote people's economic and social security, equality in living conditions, and active participation in community life. It also provides good care, health and medical services, and support to the elderly, people with disabilities, and others in need of societal support. The administration consists of the Assistance Unit, the Care and Support Department, the Disability Support Department, the Home Care Department, the Management Support Organization, and the Health and Medical Services Organization.

As a nurse in the Health and Medical Services Organization, you will join our nursing unit with assignments at specialized housing or at our short-term care unit.

Job Responsibilities

As a licensed nurse, you are responsible for health and medical care interventions at our short-term care facility.

The role involves coordinating high-quality care and support, where you are part of the team working around the individual and their relatives. The position also includes mentoring within the work team. As a day-shift nurse, you will work as the responsible nurse for nursing care. You will collaborate with several colleagues. Our team consists of approximately 30 nurses distributed across different areas, but we maintain close cooperation between colleagues, units, and the municipal responsible nurse.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse. Further education suitable for the role or experience in similar work is meritorious. You should be confident working independently as well as in a team with other staff. We value a solution-focused and flexible attitude. Personal suitability is highly valued. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

In accordance with the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative authority for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time position during daytime hours with some weekend duties.

Gällivare Municipality offers reduced working hours to all permanent nurses within the Social Services Administration.
