Description

As a budget and debt advisor, you work closely with people who are facing financial difficulties and need support to get their finances in order. The position of budget and debt advisor/death estate administrator is located in Värnamo within the administration unit and covers the entire GGVV area (Gislaved, Gnosjö, Vaggeryd, and Värnamo). The unit consists of five employees and is led by a team leader. The workplace is described as having a good atmosphere, participation, and an open climate where employees are expected to contribute to the development of the operations.

Responsibilities

In this role, you provide guidance on personal finance and create structure and overview together with the individual regarding their financial situation, guiding towards long-term sustainable solutions. You map out incomes, expenses, and debts, help establish budgets and payment plans, and guide and support in the debt restructuring process. The work is carried out through physical meetings as well as via phone, email, and digital channels. An important part of the assignment is preventive work, which may include giving lectures and training on personal finance for schools, associations, and other target groups. You collaborate with various actors such as the Swedish Enforcement Authority, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Tax Agency, banks, debt collection agencies, and the municipality's own operations. The work requires a coaching and guiding approach with a focus on strengthening the individual's own ability and contributing to long-term sustainable financial solutions. The position also includes death estate administration, where you contact relatives in connection with death estate notifications in situations where the assets in the estate are insufficient for an inventory.

Death estate administration consists of the following case types:

• Death Estate Notification - drawn up if the deceased's assets do not cover anything other than funeral costs and other expenses related to the death.
• Death Estate Administration - if there are no heirs, social services are responsible for the provisional administration of the estate until heirs have been traced and notified and have taken over the administration.
• International Estates - if there is property in Sweden after someone who did not have their residence in Sweden at the time of death, a notification of death must be made to social services.
• Funeral - if the deceased lacks relatives to arrange the funeral, social services have an obligation to ensure that a funeral takes place. Social services' task is to decide on the funeral and order it from a funeral home.

Qualifications

The position requires relevant education or equivalent experience, such as as a social worker, economist, or behavioral scientist, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation.

You must be able to work independently, plan and organize your work, and have a good ability to meet people in different life situations in a respectful manner.

You should also be outgoing, team-oriented, and have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Experience working with people in financial vulnerability or preventive work is meritorious.

As a budget and debt advisor/death estate administrator, you have an important job where you make a difference for people in difficult situations and for society as a whole.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability, and a background check is conducted prior to employment.

Meritorious:

• Experience in budget and debt advice
• Knowledge of the BOSS+ system
• Knowledge of the Pulsen Combine system
