Job Description

We are now looking for a Logistics Engineer for the Logistics Engineering department, with a focus on packaging technology, which is part of the logistics organization in Umeå. The work mainly involves driving and developing the creation of new packaging, containers, and racks for existing and future material flows at our fantastic factory.

What you will do

In your role, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks, from participating in and leading projects to handling daily operational tasks. You will focus on creating efficient instructions, optimizing work methods, and designing and reviewing models for new packaging. To succeed, you will participate in various networks and collaborative projects, giving you the opportunity to build valuable contacts and develop your expertise in the field. In this role, you become the factory's link from supplier to operator and the central point of contact.

In addition, you will act as the connecting link between our factory and the global transport organization within Volvo, becoming a supportive and advisory resource for both the factory and suppliers when designing new solutions. Sustainability is important to us; as a Logistics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future by working with environmentally friendly materials and methods. To ensure that our material flows and packaging needs are well managed, you will use calculation models to assess volume-based requirements.

  • Relevant education or experience considered equivalent.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize among complex problems.
  • Experience in driving projects.
