We are now looking for a Crematorium Technician for the crematorium in Skellefteå.

About the operation

Cremation services have been part of Swedish funeral services since the late 19th century and are today an important part of the Church of Sweden's societal mission.

Here we work with high demands on ethics, safety, and quality – and with great respect for every individual, both the deceased and the relatives. The operation is subject to permits and supervision according to environmental legislation, with clear requirements on emissions, working environment, and traceability. Documentation, self-inspections, and contact with external actors are therefore a natural part of everyday life. Funeral homes, the pathologist, and the Swedish Tax Agency are some of the operations we collaborate with on an ongoing basis.

We also continuously work to develop the operation – technically, environmentally, and regarding the working environment – to ensure a safe and sustainable operation also in the future.

About the position

As a Crematorium Technician, you work both administratively and operationally in the daily cremation activities. The position involves close collaboration with both internal and external parties and requires that you can switch between practical work, technical processes, and documentation.

This is a role for you who truly enjoys technology. You need to be able to understand processes, work systematically with routines and maintenance, and feel responsible for ensuring the operation functions safely and stably – even during periods of high load.

The work includes, among other things:

• daily cremation activities
• monitoring of cremation and flue gas processes
• self-inspections, record keeping, and documentation
• troubleshooting and measures in the event of operational disruptions
• work with environmental requirements, safety routines, and quality assurance
• development of the operation from an operational, working environment, and safety perspective

Certain other tasks within funeral services may also occur in the position.

The position includes mandatory education in crematorium technology via SKKF as well as other internal and external training.

We are looking for you who are technical, responsible, and secure as a person.

You need to be comfortable working close to deceased people and understand the importance of performing every task carefully and with respect.

This is not a job where you can chance your way through. High temperatures, technical processes, and advanced equipment place demands on knowledge, safety thinking, and the ability to remain calm even when much is happening simultaneously.

• have experience in technical operation, maintenance, or process operations and feel secure working with control systems and digital monitoring
• value order, documentation, and clear working methods
• meet others with a calm, professional, and respectful attitude
• approach problems with curiosity and drive, and work methodically until you find a solution
• are structured and can prioritize even when the pace is high
• take responsibility for your work, collaborate smoothly with others, and contribute to a positive working environment
• see opportunities for improvement and want to be part of developing the operation
• You might currently work as an operations technician, facility technician, boiler operator, process technician, industrial electrician, service technician, or within other technical operations where safety and responsibility are central.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• operation and maintenance technical education or corresponding experience
• experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting
• good computer skills and experience with digital systems
• Category B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience with boilers or combustion plants
• experience with control and regulation systems
• experience from process industry or energy plants
• knowledge within heating, ventilation, or cooling systems
• experience in systematic work environment work
• experience in working with environmental requirements and self-inspections
