The Swedish Coast Guard is a civilian state authority that monitors Sweden's coastline and large lakes around the clock. With our maritime capabilities, we are a central operational actor in the maritime environment. We have a unique mission within the total defense system, carrying out tasks within both civil defense and, under certain conditions, military defense. Our duties include sea surveillance, law enforcement, crime prevention, and maritime environmental readiness. By continuously collecting and sharing sea information with other authorities, we create a civil maritime situational picture that is crucial for both crisis preparedness and security in the maritime environment.

Our ships and aircraft constantly conduct sea surveillance, and we can act quickly in the face of threats of criminality, emergencies, accidents, or threats to maritime safety.
