Do you want to combine psychiatric and somatic care? Welcome to Ward 24!
About the role
As a nurse at Ward 24, you are medically responsible and lead your colleagues. You are responsible for documentation and medication administration. The work involves a lot of withdrawal observation and treatment. A large part of your work consists of somatic care, including elements of emergency care.
About the workplace
Ward 24 in Varberg is Halland's only addiction care ward, which means we work with both psychiatric and somatic care related to harmful use and addiction. Here, withdrawal observations and treatments are conducted, and we create social plans prior to discharge. Those of us who work here have a holistic view of patient care. We collaborate extensively with other agencies, both internally and externally. At our workplace, we work together as a team, listen to each other, and believe that everyone's opinions are valuable, regardless of profession. We enjoy a fast pace and have the opportunity in our daily work to make a real difference for our patients.
We are a cohesive work group that wants to continue developing care to provide the best possible treatment for our patients.
About you
Here you will have the opportunity to develop broad competence as you will work with both psychiatric and somatic care. We want you to be sensitive to the patient's needs, enjoy collaborating with others, and want to contribute to the development of our ward. We have varying levels of care intensity, and you enjoy working at a fast pace, but you also thrive when it is calmer, with plenty of time for conversations and other activities with our patients.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse, whether you are new to the profession or have previous experience. Specialist education in psychiatry is desirable but not a requirement. Previous experience working as a nurse is an advantage.
You are a person with a sense for your profession. You adapt your way of working and communicating according to the situation and each patient's individual needs. Since we work in a cross-professional manner, it is crucial that you have a developed ability to collaborate in a team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We warmly welcome your application!
Our offer
We believe that a secure start is crucial for you to thrive with us. Therefore, you will receive a longer introduction tailored specifically to you.
As a newly hired nurse with us, you are also offered your own mentor and group supervision with other new hires. The mentorship follows a structured model comprising eight meetings of 60 minutes each, where you, in dialogue with the mentor, have the opportunity to develop a professional approach, in-depth knowledge, and skills in psychiatric nursing. The goal of the supervision is to strengthen and develop your professional role through increased self-awareness.
As an employee, you are also offered several trainings, where Self-Defense Training, CPR, Fire Safety, and Suicide Prevention Training are mandatory. Region Halland offers paid further education in psychiatry to our basic trained nurses. It is important that you, who work with us, find a balance between work and leisure, which is why we always offer full-time employment but with the possibility to work less.
For us, it is important that you thrive and develop in your work. As a newly graduated nurse or if you have up to six months of experience, your employment with us begins with a base year. More about the base year and other benefits that Region Halland can offer you can be read here.
