About the position

As a nurse assistant on Ward 24, you work with both psychiatric and somatic care. You perform sample collections such as breathalyzer tests, blood tests, and blood pressure checks. You conduct patient conversations and document your part of the work. A nurse assistant is always present during doctor consultations, which gives you great opportunities for learning and development, as well as the chance to contribute directly to the joint effort for the patient's benefit.

About the workplace

Ward 24 in Varberg is Halland's only ward for addiction care, which means we work with both psychiatric and somatic care related to harmful use and addiction. Here, we conduct withdrawal observations and treatments, and we create social plans prior to discharge. We who work here have a holistic view of the care of our patients. We collaborate extensively with other agencies, both internally and externally. At our workplace, we work together as a team, listen to each other, and believe that everyone's opinions are significant, regardless of profession. We enjoy a fast pace and have the opportunity in our daily work to make a real difference for our patients.

We are a work group with good cohesion that wants to continue developing our care to provide the best possible treatment for our patients.

About you

Here you will have the opportunity to develop broad competence as you will work with both psychiatric and somatic care. We want you to be sensitive to the patient's needs, enjoy collaborating with others, and want to be involved in developing our ward. We have varying levels of care intensity, and you enjoy working at a fast pace, but you also thrive when it is a bit calmer with plenty of time for conversations and other activities together with our patients.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed a nurse assistant/nursing education (nursing program, care and assistance program, or alternative older programs) with at least a grade of Pass in all courses. You must have Psychiatry 2, 200 credits, within the framework of the education, or alternatively the course Psychiatry within previous educations. Completed education within the Care and Assistance College is meritorious, as is experience of working in psychiatric care.

To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you are an engaged and proactive person, with the ability to work with flexibility. You should enjoy teamwork. You have pedagogical insight and are good at adapting your communication to the recipient. Furthermore, we see that you are structured and can organize your work. The ability to see the big picture is valuable, as is keeping your knowledge up to date within psychiatry. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
