Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted involuntary care for young people and for adults with substance abuse issues.

SiS Youth Home Eknäs receives school-age boys aged 12–16 with psychosocial problems, as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse. The institution is located just outside Enköping in a beautiful natural area near Lake Mälaren. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change. SiS Eknäs Youth Home is currently in an exciting phase of development and growth. Apply for the position if you want to be part of this journey and contribute with us to creating a place for change!

About the position: A job where you make a difference every day!

As a psychologist at SiS Youth Home Eknäs, you are not just part of the treatment team – you are a key figure in the young people's process of change! The position involves both clinical work with the young people and close collaboration with the treatment staff for supervision and evaluation of the measures decided upon in the individual treatment plan. Your expertise is crucial in working together with your colleagues in a safe environment to create conditions for change and positive development for the young people.

Eknäs has a care chain with four wards accommodating 26 boys. On the MBB ward, we investigate the young people's care needs, and some of them then move to one of our two treatment wards for treatment in a locked environment, before moving, when deemed possible, to our open treatment ward as a final step before discharge. One of Eknäs treatment wards targets boys with boundary-crossing sexually deviant behavior, where psychologists work with, among other things, the STOPPA treatment program, based on DBT. The Quality Unit consists of psychologists, nurses, treatment secretaries, and family therapists.

The psychologist's duties and responsibilities include among other things:

  • Conduct psychological assessments, investigations, and mappings, or other needs assessments within the framework of SiS's mission and guidelines.
  • Conduct psychological treatment interventions based on individual care planning and needs (individual therapy).
  • Be responsible for parts of the suicide prevention work at the institution, such as training for ward staff, as well as assessment and follow-up regarding care needs and interventions concerning suicide risk.
  • Participate in treatment meetings and contribute psychological expertise in the planning and follow-up of care and treatment interventions.
  • Assess care needs and plan interventions in collaboration with other health care personnel and other involved professions at the institution.
  • Collaborate with regional healthcare providers, social services, and other actors to ensure continuity in the care chain.
  • Supervise and guide ward staff in psychological and pedagogical approaches, attitudes, and understanding of the needs of young people and clients.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of TMO consultations and case guidance.
  • Contribute, together with other health care personnel, to the systematic quality and improvement work of healthcare at the institution.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of routines and methods for psychological work within SiS.
  • Participate in school health services.
  • Supervise PTP psychologists and psychology candidates.
