Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters, working long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will play a crucial role in the future – what matters is how we produce them. Become part of us and drive change for future generations.
Mechanic for Kristineberg Mine
Kristineberg is a mine in strong development where modern technology meets long experience in underground mining. The area is currently expanding further through the investment in the nearby Rävliden, one of Boliden's most future-oriented establishments where electrified and sustainable underground mining is now being built up. This makes it an exciting time to become part of the team, where you as a vehicle mechanic will work closely with both established operations and new technology in an environment characterized by safety, community, and development.
Your role
As a vehicle mechanic at Kristineberg Mine, you work with advanced technology and heavy vehicles in a unique underground working environment. You contribute to our machines operating safely and efficiently by performing service, troubleshooting, and repairs, both in the workshop and out in the field. You become an important part of the continued development in the area, especially now as we face major investments related to the new mining area, Rävliden. The working hours follow the K2 schedule, 7/7 shifts, meaning you work seven days in a row and then have seven days off, with varying morning and afternoon shifts.
Your team
You will become part of an engaged team where collaboration, responsibility, and safety are fundamental to daily work. In the role of vehicle mechanic at Kristineberg Mine, you will receive the safety training required, giving you the right prerequisites to work safely and efficiently underground. You will work in a completely new and modern workshop with large, well-planned spaces.
Your responsibilities
- Perform service and preventive maintenance on heavy vehicles and mining machinery.
- Carry out thorough troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of various types of machinery.
- Work both in the workshop and perform field repairs in the stopes.
- Ensure order, structure, and good documentation in connection with all work tasks.
Your contribution
We are looking for you who thrive in collaboration with others and can work independently. Initiative, personal responsibility, solution-orientation, and the ability to maintain order and structure.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Upper secondary education, preferably in vehicle technology or equivalent
- Technical interest and experience in mechanical work
- Good computer skills
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written
- Basic knowledge of English, spoken and written
- Category B driver's license
Advantageous:
- Experience in service and maintenance of heavy construction machinery
- Knowledge in vehicle electronics and hydraulics
Why work with us
At Boliden, we believe in promoting a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where your contribution will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company consisting of responsible and creative people who all work towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metal supplier in the world.
