About Us

The Occupational Therapy Clinic at Mälarsjukhuset provides rehabilitation in both outpatient and inpatient care. We are now looking for a substitute occupational therapist for the Surgical Department. Working in inpatient care is rewarding but can also be demanding, as we play a crucial role in the discharge process.

The occupational therapy team shares common premises with physiotherapists and rehabilitation nursing assistants. This ensures that colleagues are always nearby to ask questions, reflect with, receive help from, or provide help in daily work.

Your Responsibilities

The discharge process begins the moment a patient is admitted to the ward. Sometimes only medical needs need to be met, but often an occupational therapy assessment and intervention are also required. You will be based out of our premises but have a primary placement where you meet patients to assess the need for rehabilitation measures and assistive devices. This primary placement is at the Surgical Department.

In addition to this primary placement, you will also be part of a coverage group consisting of a smaller number of occupational therapy colleagues, with whom you plan, among other things, your holidays. You work independently and take responsibility for your tasks in a structured manner. At the same time, you collaborate closely with physiotherapists, the ward team, patients and their relatives, as well as other healthcare providers.

Your Qualifications

• You are a licensed occupational therapist or will graduate at the end of the upcoming term.
• Since home visits may occur, a B-class driver's license is desirable.
• We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Employment Type

Fixed-term contract (substitute) for at least 6 months, up to August 2027, with start date by agreement.
