Gerestaskolan is located on Härnön in Härnösand Municipality. The school is situated in a beautiful natural setting with a schoolyard bordering forest and recreation areas, which are used frequently in daily operations. The school offers activities from preschool class to grade 6, as well as four after-school care departments. Key words that the school works by are knowledge, safety, and joy.
One of our student assistants has started an education, and we are therefore looking for an engaged and positive student assistant for Gerestaskolan.
Job Responsibilities
You will be part of a work team together with teachers, after-school care teachers, and other student assistants. According to the teacher's planning, you will work with students in whole classes, groups, and individually. You will also be helpful in fetching suitable materials, visual support, or other adjustments. You need to be confident in communicating with guardians and colleagues. You work according to the School Act, the curriculum, and municipal goals. The position involves working with students with special needs, using a low-affective approach where you have high positive expectations for the students. As an employee of ours, you have a genuine belief in our students, are solution-focused, and creative in how you handle the diversity in the student group and find different paths to students' learning and care. You naturally focus on the "possible" and show great commitment to the equal value of everyone.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have relevant education for the assignment with at least a high school level. You have previous experience from pedagogical work and working with students in need of special support who have a neuropsychiatric functional variation. You have a positive attitude and believe that all students can succeed. You have a professional appearance in your handling of students and guardians. You see differences as enriching and you gladly take the initiative to learn and do new things together with others. You are receptive to new working methods and new technology, are self-reliant, secure, responsible, and constructive. The position implies that you need to be enduring while being positive and innovative and have an easy time collaborating. You speak and write Swedish fluently as this is required in contact with guardians and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Student Assistant or Teacher Assistant education
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
Merits:
- Previous experience working as a student assistant.
- Advanced knowledge of NPD (Neuropsychiatric Disorders).
- Low-affective handling
Personal qualities:
- Relationship-building and secure in meeting with students, guardians, and colleagues
- Good teamwork skills, engaged, and communicative
- Good organizational skills, structured, solution-oriented, and used to taking responsibility from idea to implementation
- Calm and clear in conflict situations and good at handling many things at once

Salary: According to agreement
Fixed-term employment: 2026-08-03 to 2027-06-11
Start date: 2026-08-03
The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made. Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
