With an investment of approximately 370 MEUR, Metsä Tissue has established itself as a leading company in sustainable soft paper production in Sweden and Scandinavia, with strong and well-known brands such as Lambi, Serla and Katrin.

Now that the future factory is in operation and the business continues to develop, we are looking for another driven Automation Engineer. About the role

As an Automation Engineer at Metsä Tissue, you will become a key person in our maintenance team. You will work with troubleshooting, programming and updating control systems within our advanced automation processes. The role involves significant personal responsibility, while at the same time giving you the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments. You report to our Maintenance Manager.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated solutions to improve productivity and quality
• Optimize processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of automation systems to ensure stable and efficient operation
• Responsible for commissioning and execution of new systems and equipment
• Lead and develop preventive maintenance work
• Actively participate in improvement and development projects
• Active participation in working environment and safety issues

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are analytical, driven and enjoy tackling complex issues. You are structured and have the ability to work independently while appreciating collaboration in an open and social environment.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in automation, electrical engineering or equivalent experience
• Documented experience of working with automation systems, including programming and advanced troubleshooting
• Technical competence in troubleshooting and root cause analysis which contributes to ensuring maximum operational security and minimizing downtime
• We would like you to have experience working with Siemens systems
• Experience of participating in and driving improvement and development projects
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Experience of control and regulation technology within the process industry is meritorious
• Experience in data/IT is meritorious
• Electrical design is meritorious
