Fiskevårdsteknik has been working on adapting hydropower to the environment for over 30 years and is today one of Sweden's leading specialist companies within fisheries conservation and aquatic environments. Sweden is now facing a historic review of hydropower, where sustainable energy production must be combined with better aquatic environments and free migration routes for fish. Therefore, we are looking for more dedicated employees who want to develop the future of water care together with us.

Environmental Consultant within Water Care and Hydraulics

We are looking for you who are a recent graduate or have up to five years of experience in areas such as:

  • hydraulics
  • plant technology
  • limnology
  • ecological restoration and aquatic environments

You might, for example, be educated as a limnologist, civil engineer in water and road construction, ecosystem engineer, or have other relevant education or experience within the field.

The most important thing for us is that you have a genuine interest in water, fish, nature, and environmental issues, as well as a desire to develop together with us.

Your Responsibilities

Here, you work closely with the entire project chain, from early investigations and design to implementation in the field. The work is varied and combines technology, nature conservation, and practical project work.

Your responsibilities will include among other things:

  • design and construction of fish passes and other water care measures
  • preliminary studies and investigations related to the environmental adaptation of hydropower plants and regulation reservoirs
  • preparation of technical descriptions, reports, and environmental impact assessments
  • site supervision and construction management during the implementation of habitat care and fish pass projects
  • participation in surveys and fieldwork within aquatic environments

We are looking for you who have

  • good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
  • Category B driver's license

Qualifying Experience

It is an advantage if you have experience of:

  • environmental law as well as permit and review processes for water activities
  • fish and fauna passages, habitat mapping, habitat care, or wetland construction
  • design and drawing programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or SketchUp/Layout
  • GIS programs such as QGIS or similar

Why you will thrive with us

We offer a workplace with great freedom, short decision-making paths, and close collaboration between colleagues. Our projects are driven by small, cohesive teams where you quickly gain responsibility and the opportunity to influence both the project and your own development.

We work exclusively with water care and can offer a broad and varied job within a field that makes a real difference for future aquatic environments.
