ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is wholly owned by the Municipality of Enköping through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. The company has been producing electricity and district heating from nearly 100% biofuel since the mid-90s, when the combined heat and power plant was put into operation. ENA Energi AB has just over 40 employees and delivers approx. 220 GWh to approx. 1,800 customers through a district heating network spanning 120 km. The company also produces approx. 75 GWh of electricity.

About the role

As a shift operator with us, you work close to the process and with clear responsibility for the whole. You are part of a shift together with a process engineer and are responsible for ensuring the facility is operated safely, economically, and environmentally correctly.

The work includes, among other things:

• Independent rounds and monitoring of the facility
• Operator maintenance and systematic deviation reporting
• Planning and execution of shutdowns and startups
• Active participation in prioritizing operational and maintenance efforts
• Participation in revision work and development of operating methods and process solutions

The facility consists of a chip-fired combined heat and power block with an associated steam turbine, flue gas cooler, and water purification. Additionally, there are steam and hot water boilers using pellets and oil as fuel. The role involves significant responsibility and great variation – from fuel feeding to ash handling and, for example, operating a loader. We are in the process of building new boilers and facilities.

Shift work is the main rule, but periods of daytime work and on-call duties may occur.

Who we think you are

You are confident in your role as a shift operator and used to working independently in a process or combined heat and power environment. You have a developed safety mindset, a good understanding of the interaction within the facility, and the ability to make well-balanced decisions even when conditions change rapidly. Operations do not always go as planned, and great flexibility is required. But with this comes a varied and meaningful job with great freedom under responsibility.

• Dare to question when necessary – and suggest improvements
• Have an easy time communicating clearly in operation-critical situations

Qualifications

• Operational technology education (university level, vocational higher education, or equivalent)
• Several years of experience from a combined heat and power plant or process industry
• Experience with solid fuel facilities is meritorious
• Boiler operator certificate is meritorious
• Knowledge in water chemistry and change management is meritorious
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Category B driver's license

The position is a full-time position located in Enköping. Start date by agreement. On-call duties may occur with a response time of 1 hour.
