When technology meets language – become our new Technical Writer

At Firefly, we develop and deliver world-leading fire protection and fire prevention systems for process industries around the globe. We are now looking for a meticulous and engaged Technical Writer who wants to ensure high quality and structure in our technical documentation.

Here, you will have a central role where language, technology, and collaboration meet. You will become a key person connecting various parts of the organization – from production and aftermarket to sales and marketing.

About the role

As a Technical Writer at Firefly, you are the hub responsible for the flow and quality of our technical texts and documents. You work both operationally and coordinatively, handling everything from writing and editing documents to driving projects related to document management.

Your main responsibilities:

• Administer and project-manage texts from various departments.
• Write and revise technical texts for product documentation used in production, aftermarket, as well as sales and marketing materials.
• Ensure the quality of our technical documents.
• Be responsible for the company's document management system, Zert.
• Act as the main contact for our translation suppliers.
• Create technical illustrations for manuals.

You will collaborate closely with several internal functions and have contacts with external suppliers. The role requires that you thrive working with short delivery times, multiple parallel projects, and close collaboration with others.

To succeed in the role, we would like you to have:

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a technical company.
• A technical education, preferably at a post-secondary level, such as an engineering degree or training as a technical writer/informator.
• Good technical understanding and interest in industrial processes.
• Experience with document management systems is an advantage.
• An eye for graphic design and aesthetics.
• Experience in creating technical illustrations, exploded views, assembly drawings, and videos is an advantage.
• Experience in writing market-adapted technical texts, e.g., articles or marketing materials, is an advantage.
