Do you want to share your professional experience with the industry's future stars?
We are now looking for you who have worked as a pipefitter or construction worker within the water and sewerage sector (VA) and want to take the next step in your career by working as a vocational teacher/instructor. With us, you have the opportunity to shape the future pipefitters, while maintaining flexibility and contact with working life.
The teaching takes place in Huvudsta, Solna, 2–3 days per week, and we will agree on the schedule together. This makes the position ideal to combine with your own business, project assignments, or a continued role in the industry. In addition to teaching days, there is time for planning and communication with the students via Teams or phone. This time is flexible and can be done from home.
About the role As a vocational teacher/instructor for adult, motivated students in the National Vocational Education (NY) Construction Worker Pipe Network / Pipefitter program, you are responsible for conveying the profession's theory, methods, and real work processes to adult students. - Professional theory and industry knowledge
- Reading drawings and work methodology
- Safety, regulations, and quality
- Planning and execution of work
- Study visits and industry contacts
- Preparation for work at workplaces (LIA - Work Integrated Learning)
You become a key person in connecting the education to reality in the industry. You work closely with experienced education leaders at Arena Yrkeshögskola.
Why you will thrive with us:
- You use your competence — without digging trenches every day
- You work with motivated adult students
- You have great freedom to influence the teaching
- You contribute concretely to society's competence supply
- You can combine the assignment with other work
- There is also an opportunity to work as a consultant via your own company
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct teaching in professional theory
- Lead lessons, seminars, and group work
- Organize study visits and industry contacts
- Supervise students before and during practice (LIA)
- Evaluate knowledge and conduct examinations
- Contribute to the development and quality of the education
We are looking for you who:
- Have several years of experience as a pipefitter/construction worker within VA
- Have a good understanding of pipe networks, ground, and excavation work
- Preferably have experience of leadership or planning
- Have pedagogical skills and enjoy explaining and instructing
- Have experience of supervising, introducing, or training colleagues
- Have basic IT skills
- Formal teacher education is meritorious but not a requirement.
Personal qualities - We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are:
- Clear and communicative
- Structured and responsible
- Committed to helping others succeed
- Confident in your professional role
- Collaborative and professional
