Meal Service is a sector within Östersund Municipality's Technical Administration. The sector includes just over 70 kitchens divided into seven areas. We prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for preschools and schools, lunches for upper secondary schools, and dinner and lunch for people living in special housing.
Employment type: Hourly employment
Working hours: Varies between 06:30–16:00 Monday–Friday. In some kitchens, there is an opportunity to work on weekends.
Payment method: Hourly wage
Salary: Individual salary setting based on current guidelines

Job Responsibilities
Cook
- Prepare safe, nutritious, and sustainable high-quality food in accordance with current guidelines and customer orders.
- Responsible for planning kitchen operations and performing all kitchen tasks required to comply with laws, guidelines, policies, and achieve the unit's set goals.
- Order food and consumables in accordance with current agreements.
- Receive and account for invoices according to current routines.
- Offer good service and a welcoming attitude.
Qualifications
- Cooking training, and/or work experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
- Work experience from previous work as a cook in a public kitchen is meritorious.
- Good language skills in Swedish.
- Good computer skills.
Meal Assistant
- Work with preparation and cleanup in both the kitchen and dining room in accordance with customer orders. Some cooking and simpler preparation of e.g., salad buffets and side dishes for the day's meals.
- Offer good service and a welcoming attitude.
- Receive and account for invoices according to current routines.
- Order food and consumables in accordance with current agreements.
- Perform tasks required in the kitchen and dining room to comply with laws, policies, and the unit's set goals.
Qualifications
- Good language skills in Swedish and computer skills.
- Work experience in service occupations.
- Work experience from previous work in a kitchen, education in food, meals, or service, and experience with self-control are meritorious.
Meritorious
- Driver's license and access to a car, as well as the ability to work in the municipality's outer areas (Häggenås, Brunflo, Fåker, Orrviken).

About Technical Administration
Help build important societal functions for both our citizens and the municipality's operations. Our operations are very broad. We work with everything from park maintenance, waste management, recycling, and building maintenance to snow clearing, land and construction work, water purification, meal preparation, cleaning, and sanitation.
