We are now looking for a specialist physician in psychiatry to join a stable medical team in Oskarshamn.

We are four psychiatry specialists at the clinic and are now looking for a fifth colleague. The adult psychiatry clinic in Oskarshamn is a unit with full staffing and an established medical team. Four specialists work at the clinic today, which provides good opportunities for collegial support in clinical work.

The medical team functions as a well-knit collegium where we support each other in our daily work and regularly use each other as sounding boards for medical questions. Every week we meet to discuss patient cases, new findings, and other clinical issues.

We are recruiting an additional specialist as the influx of patients is increasing and one of our colleagues is approaching retirement.

Responsibilities

As a specialist with us, you work broadly within adult psychiatry. The clinic handles patients across the entire psychiatric spectrum, including neuropsychiatry, psychosis, and substance abuse disorders. The work is therefore varied and clinically stimulating. You have good opportunities to influence how your work is organized, for example regarding scheduling, administrative time, and working methods.

Work Environment

We actively work to create good working conditions for physicians. The clinic has stable staffing and a well-functioning administrative support team, which means that the physicians' time can largely be devoted to clinical work. We currently have no locum tenens doctors or temporary nurses, which contributes to continuity in work and stable teams.

We value a collegial culture where it is easy to discuss difficult clinical issues and where lack of hierarchy and collaboration are natural parts of the work.

In clinical work, the physician has a clear professional responsibility. Treatment is conducted in accordance with national and local guidelines.

The clinic is well-staffed with psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, care assistants, psychotherapists, and medical secretaries.

About You

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in psychiatry. We value a positive, professional attitude and good patient interaction where the patient is the focus.

The position requires good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to communicate clearly. You also need to have good listening skills.

A B-driver's license is required as travel and home visits may occur in the role.

The clinic is located in newly built and functional premises opposite Oskarshamn Hospital. The proximity to the hospital facilitates collaboration with somatic care. Parts of child and adolescent psychiatry are also located in the same building, which facilitates the transition from child to adult psychiatry.
