Do you want to create adult education that makes a real difference? Studiefrämjandet Väst is now looking for an Adult Education Developer who wants to contribute to a more sustainable and democratic society by developing activities within the profile area of culture. You will work in close collaboration with associations, groups, and other actors within civil society.
The role of Adult Education DeveloperAs an Adult Education Developer, you are a central part of our operations. You translate the ideas of adult education into practice and create meaningful learning processes together with participants, leaders, and associations. The role involves both strategic and operational work – from initiating collaborations and planning activities to following up on results and contributing to development at the local, regional, and sometimes national level.
You work in a dynamic environment where you have great scope to influence and shape the content of the activities, always with the needs of participants and societal challenges in focus.
Tasks and responsibilitiesAs an Adult Education Developer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and developing Studiefrämjandet's local adult education activities within culture. The work takes place in close collaboration with member organizations, associations, leaders, and participants, and is based on our mission, strategy, and profile areas.
You drive activities from idea to follow-up, including course development, administration, budget planning, and financial follow-up. You ensure that the activities meet current guidelines, quality requirements, and administrative conditions, and keep yourself updated on changed operational conditions that affect the work.
An important part of the role is to work proactively and make adult education accessible to prioritized target groups. You initiate and develop collaborations with civil society actors, other study associations, and relevant societal actors, and represent Studiefrämjandet in external contexts – both locally and regionally.
You facilitate meetings, lead workshops and training sessions, and support leaders and participants in their learning. Through environmental scanning, experience sharing, and dissemination of good examples, you contribute to activity development within both the department and the organization as a whole.
You will be an important ambassador for Studiefrämjandet and contribute to our funding by highlighting the effects of the activities for funders and other stakeholders.
Your profileWe are looking for someone who is engaged, self-initiating, and has a genuine interest in adult education and our profile area of culture, with a focus on cultural associations. You have an easy way of building trust, establishing relationships, and collaborating with people from different backgrounds.
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education and at least three years of relevant work experience. You have worked in activities related to culture and have good pedagogical skills. You are accustomed to leading groups, holding training sessions, and facilitating meetings – both physically and digitally. You thrive in a role where you get to inspire and engage others.
You have experience working in projects and are confident in driving processes from idea to implementation. Your communicative skills in Swedish are very good, both orally and in writing, and if you also master other languages, we see this as an asset. You have basic knowledge of economics and administration and very good computer skills, especially within Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
It is meritorious if you have experience of adult education, work in the non-profit sector, or association life. If you also have an established local network within the cultural field, it is an extra plus.
About the positionThe position is a permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed. The employment begins with a six-month probation period. Working hours are goal-oriented and adapted to the needs of the activity, which means that work in evenings and weekends occurs.
