Our Operations

The Psychiatry Department at Akademiska Sjukhuset is organized into four subspecialized sections, including the Addiction and Neuropsychiatry section. This section comprises two inpatient wards: Ward 4A, focusing on addiction/pain and general psychiatric conditions, and Ward 4B, focusing on withdrawal/acute addiction states. In outpatient care, we have the Addiction Medicine Clinic, the Neuropsychiatric Clinic, and psychiatric clinics in Enköping and Norra Länet.

We are located in modern facilities in the core area of Akademiska Sjukhuset, a short walk from Uppsala Resecentrum, as well as centrally in Enköping and Norduppland.

Your Role

As a resident physician (underläkare) with us, you will work with psychiatric diagnostics and treatment of the conditions for which patients are admitted. Together with specialist physicians, nurses, care assistants, psychologists, and social workers, you will be responsible for our patients. With us, you have the opportunity to develop through stimulating interactions with patients and colleagues, as well as through supervision. Together, we create a developing and challenging workplace.

Your Qualifications and Competence

We are looking for you who are a licensed/examined physician with a broad and genuine interest in psychiatry. In your work, you always put the patient first. You have good communication skills. As a person, you should be humble, responsible, curious, flexible, and meticulous. Previous experience in addiction and psychiatry is meritorious. With supervision from specialist physicians, you will also have the opportunity to gain experience and competence that will be assessed when applying for specialist training (ST).

What We Offer

We offer fixed-term positions from 2026-09-01 to 2027-01-31. Full-time employment. Start date according to agreement. Extracts from the suspicion and criminal records will be requested prior to employment.
