Our Operations
The Psychiatry Department provides highly specialized care for individuals with severe mental illnesses. Psychiatry Ward 3A is a 24-hour care unit with 13 beds for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients primarily suffering from affective disorders, such as bipolar syndrome, severe depression, and anxiety disorders. The ward also treats patients with eating disorder issues. Four of the beds are dedicated to this treatment.
Your Role
Working on Ward 3A is an exciting role where you will meet many people in various situations. You will be part of a team that supports and helps each other, while also working independently. The team includes doctors, nursing assistants, care assistants, nurses, specialist nurses, and social workers. Patients arrive both urgently and by appointment, and the pace of work can be high at times.
As a nursing assistant, you will primarily engage in basic psychiatric and somiatric nursing care close to the patient. You will care for patients with a wide variation of care needs. In collaboration with colleagues from other professional categories, you will participate in planning the patient's care and treatment. You will engage in supportive conversations and documentation, as well as perform sample collections and examinations. The workplace is stimulating and offers a mix of somatic and psychiatric care. The role also includes supervising nursing assistant students.
Your Qualifications
- Trained nursing assistant through the three-year (2500 credits) Nursing and Care Program at upper secondary school, the Nursing and Care Program at Komvux (adult education), three terms (minimum 1350 credits), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. (In cases of other equivalent education within municipal adult education or older nursing assistant or care assistant educations, an individual assessment is made.)
- Meritorious with documented experience working in specialist psychiatric care.
Your Competence
You have a genuine interest in psychiatric nursing. During the hiring process, we place great emphasis on your personal suitability. We expect you to always have the patient at the center and to treat patients, relatives, and colleagues with respect and humility. You have the ability to communicate and adapt your communication to the different needs you encounter. As a person, you are positive, engaged, and meticulous. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with people with psychiatric issues and want to contribute to the development of our operations. You master basic medical-technical tasks at the nursing assistant level, such as venous blood sampling, ECG examinations, and wound care. You enjoy supervising students and feel confident in that role.
