Do you want to become an expert on one of the world's leading carbon credit standards and work to ensure regulatory compliance and quality in climate projects?

EKEN is looking for a meticulous and structured individual to take on a central role in our certification processes. In this position, you will dive deep into the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the world's market-leading standard for certified climate benefits, and become our internal expert in the field – a key factor in ensuring our projects can be converted into actual revenue.

About EKEN

EKEN operates at the intersection of forestry, climate, and finance. We are developing a business model where forests are transformed into new, long-term revenue streams through certified carbon credits on a growing European market.

By measuring, certifying, and selling the forest's carbon sequestration, we create new revenue streams for forest owners, while simultaneously providing companies with access to high-quality carbon credits to meet their climate goals. Using data, analysis, and proprietary technical solutions, we are building a scalable business model for recurring revenue over time.

About the Role

As a Carbon Program Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring that our projects meet international standards for carbon credits – and in developing how they meet market demands for quality, transparency, and added value.

You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners, acting as the contact person for third-party verifiers. The role involves coordinating processes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring that all work is conducted according to current standards.

You do not need prior knowledge of VCS; you will be given the opportunity to learn it and develop into our internal expert.

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate project validation and verification
• Lead the development and updating of project descriptions
• Work on process development
• Act as the contact person for third-party verifiers
• Ensure correct reporting and documentation according to VCS
• Function as an internal expert in methodology and regulations

Other tasks may include no-net-harm analyses and stakeholder dialogues.

We believe you have

• An education in economics, sustainability, or engineering
• Experience in controlling, accounting, or standardization
• Experience working with standards, regulations, or certifications
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
