About the Unit
The Intelligence and Security Department is organized within the Air Staff, leading the intelligence and security service of the Swedish Air Force. The main task is to support the Chief of the Air Force and the rest of the staff with decision-making support.
The Intelligence Section functionally leads subordinate units regarding intelligence and security services. The intelligence and security service focuses primarily on functional leadership, environmental monitoring, and monitoring of security-threatening activities. At higher readiness levels, the intelligence and security service supports operations in both the short and long term.
Main Responsibilities
- Serve as security coordinator for personal protection and personal security matters, focusing on the Swedish Air Force's senior leadership and other personnel security assets within the Air Force.
- Responsible for the planning, preparation, and evaluation of personal protection and personal security measures, as well as coordinating security protection measures with internal actors in the Swedish Armed Forces (FM) and other external actors regarding travel, visits, events, exercises, operations, and other activities for the Air Force's senior leadership.
- Method and functional development within the personal protection and personal security area in the Air Force.
- Support the production of intelligence and security threat assessments in peace, crisis, and war regarding personal security issues.
- Represent the section at cooperation meetings within and outside the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as with other actors in the field of personal security.
- Coordinate and train within the field of personal security.
- Close coordination with the FVC Chief Support Group and handlers of international relations.
- Participate in other activities of the Intelligence and Security Section.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Diploma/authorized training in security protection, personal protection, and/or other relevant training in personal security.
- Experience from police, law enforcement, security companies, intelligence, and/or security services.
- Experience in national and international operational personal protection work.
- Good ability to express oneself orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Category B driver's license.

Merits
- Degree at university/college level in an applicable area (police education, war studies, political science, or equivalent).
- Experience in process and method development within the personal protection/personal security area.
- Experience from leadership functions in personal protection work.
- Experience in training/instructor functions in personal protection and/or personal security.
- Ability to express oneself orally and in writing in one or more additional world languages.
- Completed military service or equivalent education.
- Proficiency in working with FM command and control support systems.
- Knowledge and experience regarding the Air Force's own units and their capabilities.
- Service in intelligence/security positions within the Swedish Armed Forces or other authorities.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: The Air Staff's primary and largest task is to support the Chief of the Air Force in leading all squadrons and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, executes, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Chief of the Air Force. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and has the mission to monitor and protect Swedish airspace. This is a mission that runs 24/7, year-round, to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5,100 employees, civilian and military, work within the Air Force.

An employment with us involves placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
