About our open position

We are looking for a specialist physician in cardiology and an experienced PCI operator who wants to strengthen our team, characterized by good collegial camaraderie, a positive work climate, and excellent supervision opportunities. As a specialist physician, you will also have the opportunity to initiate and drive development based on knowledge and interest in consultation with the rest of the team.

As a specialist physician and PCI operator, you will work together with two experienced PCI operators, and training for new PCI operators takes place continuously. The unit performs approximately 1,000 angiographies and 500 PCIs annually. Pericardiocenteses are performed in the PCI lab. PCI procedures are conducted during office hours and are located adjacent to the cardiac intensive care unit. The department also operates a pacemaker clinic. The role includes supervising AT and ST physicians as well as medical students, and participating on-call duties. We have exciting years ahead with the development of cardiology for long-term sustainability. Collaboration with primary care has begun and will continue to develop over time.

About us

The Medical Area (VO) Medicine is one of the hospital's largest areas and has a broad scope of activity with specialists in general internal medicine, cardiology, hematology, pulmonology, allergy, nephrology, gastroenterology, diabetes, endocrinology, and oncology. We have a large educational mission, with significant parts of the medical course of the physician education program located at SÄS. We are proud to call ourselves a university healthcare unit, which implies a quality stamp on our research and educational capacity. The clinic is organized into three sections: the Hematology/Oncology section, the Medicine section, and the Cardiology section. Within the sections, there are chief physicians, responsible senior consultants, and unit managers who lead the development of the work.

Our mission is to provide internal medicine, cardiology, and oncology care for the residents in our catchment area, and we do this with great and dedicated commitment.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license and specialist certification in cardiology. You must master the Swedish language at level C1 equivalent and be an experienced PCI operator. Experience in research or a desire to conduct research is welcome. As a person, you have high personal maturity, thrive in independent work, and can collaborate across boundaries. You have a good approach towards both patients and colleagues. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
