The Cleaning and Facility Services department is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the municipality's premises, with a focus on daily cleaning and planned maintenance. We also offer facility services, internal mail handling, and caretaking. We are approximately 350 employees, and together we clean around 510,000 square meters daily in schools, nursing homes, offices, and other municipal premises.

We are now looking for permanent cleaners for a dedicated resource team. This is a new way of working for us, where a specific team helps out when regular staff is absent.

The role of Cleaner in the Resource Team

The resource team is new to us and exists to help when regular staff is sick or on leave for a short period. This allows us to continue maintaining high cleaning quality. As an employee in the resource team, you work where the need arises, which means you:

• Work in different areas within Umeå Municipality
• Work in varying environments, such as schools, preschools, nursing homes, sports facilities, and office spaces
• Have a flexible and roaming workday where the workplace may vary from day to day

The resource team will play an important role, ensuring operations run smoothly even when regular staff is not present. We are looking for you who enjoy variety in your work and adapt easily to new workplaces and environments.

Your responsibilities

• Daily cleaning, planned deep cleaning, and floor care
• Operating machinery
• Maintenance of cleaning equipment and machines
• Ordering cleaning supplies
• Daily contact with people present in the premises
• Quality control of your own work to ensure high cleaning standards

About you

We are looking for someone who appreciates order and tidiness, is solution-oriented, and wants to contribute where you are needed most. You thrive working both independently and as part of a team, and you adapt easily to new conditions.

We require:

• Experience in professional cleaning
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Good proficiency in Swedish (both spoken and written), and basic knowledge of English

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience with cleaning machines, floor care, and window cleaning
• Cleaning education, for example through SRY, folk high school, or distance learning
• Basic computer skills

Fur animals may be present at the workplace, so allergies should be considered.

Employment requires a certificate of good conduct (police record) according to current legislation.
