Description

Are you a licensed physiotherapist and want to develop new working methods within municipal rehabilitation? Then this position in Älvkarleby Municipality might be for you.

We are launching a two-year project focused on a new working method for us. In this role, you will work closely with an occupational therapist in pairs, where you will jointly drive daily operations and contribute to designing and testing new working methods. The project offers an opportunity to influence how rehabilitation is organized and implemented moving forward, and there may be an opportunity for extension after the project period ends.

In this role, you need to work independently and take initiative, while also having good collaboration skills and thriving in a team. You are flexible and can adapt interventions based on individual needs.

The rehabilitation unit is part of the Health and Medical Care Unit, along with the municipality's nurses. The group consists of six licensed occupational therapists/physiotherapists supported by a rehabilitation assistant. The team works in shared premises close to both nurses and care staff. The premises are located in the municipality's large care and nursing home with shared facilities such as a café, training kitchen, gym, and a recently inaugurated sunroom. Within the operations, preventive exercise groups are conducted by the Health and Medical Care Unit jointly with the occupational therapist from the Assistance Unit.

Your closest collaborators, besides your own unit, will be nurses, care staff, managers, and planning coordinators who regularly collaborate regarding individuals from a person-centered approach. In a small municipality like Älvkarleby, we have short distances to each other and to decision-makers.

The municipality offers a wellness allowance or wellness hours.

Responsibilities

As a licensed physiotherapist, you play a central role in promoting health and well-being among our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

• Physiotherapeutic assessment, treatment, and follow-up
• Fitting and prescribing assistive devices
• Promoting physical activity and preventing ill health
• Collaborating with other professional groups for a holistic view
• Participating in education and information dissemination regarding health-promoting and preventive measures

You will play a key role in building the new working method together with the team.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a physiotherapist/sports therapist
• Previous experience from municipal rehabilitation is an advantage
