Opportunity to apply for study grant
Are you a nursing student in Term 5, and interested in working in internal medicine when you have completed your education and graduated as a nurse? We offer you, who start Term 6 in autumn 2026 on the nursing program and choose to start your career with us after completing your studies, the opportunity to apply for a study grant during your final term (Term 6).
Grow into the role
As a newly graduated nurse at Akademiska Hospital, you will have varied tasks and a secure and educational start in your new profession. Sometimes the step between education and working life feels large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us.
KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for you who are a newly graduated nurse and employed by Region Uppsala. It aims to help you sharpen your clinical skills, network with other newly graduated nurses, and have reflection time together with experienced nurses. Our operations
On Ward 30E Internal Medicine, we care for patients who primarily have an internal medicine diagnosis. We have 22 care beds. Patients come to us after initial handling in the emergency department, or alternatively after care in intensive care or intermediate care. On Ward 30E, we also receive patients from the mobile home care team for direct admission. Our specialist competence is heart failure. The average length of stay is 5–7 days.
The ward is constantly developing, and we want you as an employee to have the chance to actively participate in building and developing the operations so that seriously ill patients can be cared for under good conditions with high quality, on a ward where the staff's work environment is in focus. Here we invest in a thorough introduction, education, development, and various improvement projects.

Your qualifications
We are looking for you who are a nursing student in Term 5 starting Term 6 in autumn 2026. You are interested in internal medicine and want to start working on Ward 30E after completing your degree. We place great importance on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and good collaboration skills.
We offer
We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse. You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant or care assistant during your studies, but this is not a requirement. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with rotational shifts.
