Battery Engineer (Li-ion) – Senior Specialist (SOH/RUL)

We are looking for a senior battery specialist to support an MVP project focused on the "second life" of used electric vehicles (BEVs). This role involves in-depth analysis of Battery Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) to optimize the reuse of battery packs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and validate SOH/RUL models for used BEVs.
• Analyze battery degradation based on vehicle data.
• Compare onboard vs. offboard estimates and explain deviations.
• Evaluate aging factors such as temperature, SOC, DoD, C-rate, load, and driving profiles.
• Define confidence levels and applicability limits for estimates.
• Translate technical insights into business recommendations for sales, leasing, warranty, and residual value.

Your Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc in battery engineering, electrochemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of Li-ion technology and degradation mechanisms.
• Experience with SOH/RUL analysis, including calendar and cycle aging, and real-world usage effects.
• Understanding of capacity fade, resistance increase, and performance degradation.
• Experience working with BMS, vehicle, or battery test data.
• Ability to validate and critically evaluate models.

Technology & Tools:

• SOH/RUL modeling and validation.
• Working with BMS and vehicle data.
• Python and/or SQL.

Practical Information:

• Location: 100% onsite in Södertälje.
• Contract Period: 2026-05-18 – 2026-10-17.
