Application for Teacher/Afterschool Educator Position at Sameskolstyrelsen

Sameskolstyrelsen is a government agency with its administration, including school principal, controllers, HR, and case handlers, located in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sami school is an educational form equivalent to the compulsory school, offering education from pre-school class to year 6. The starting point for the teaching is Sami culture and the Sami language according to the curriculum for the Sami school. Sameskolstyrelsen also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. Sameskolstyrelsen has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

Sameskolstyrelsen arranges distance education in the Sami languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work in the school and at the afterschool center.

  • You have the ability to see all students and take into account their individual prerequisites. You contribute to their learning during school hours and afterschool care.
  • You can observe and base your work on the interaction in the group to develop students' ability to communicate, as well as to listen to, interpret, and understand others' viewpoints and ways of expressing themselves.
  • You enjoy building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Together with other colleagues in the work team, you will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and follow-up/evaluation of the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or another education that the employer deems suitable. It is an advantage if you have work experience working with students with special needs.

You have patience, problem-solving skills, and are positive and creative. You are good at seeing opportunities. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships.

You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to the students' needs, and you enjoy working with children and young people.

As we work in a Sami environment, it is important to have knowledge of and be well-acquainted with the Sami language and Sami culture.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for you who has documented good collaboration skills.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: 6 months or longer.

Sameskolstyrelsen applies individual salary setting.
