Specialist Dental Care Kaniken – National ST Position in Oral Prosthetics

Region Uppsala has a long tradition and experience in specialist training for dentists. Currently, specialist training is being conducted by 4 dentists in the region under a joint study director.

Your Role

Folktandvården in Uppsala is advertising a national ST (Specialist Training) position in oral prosthetics. On the department for oral prosthetics, you will collaborate with competent colleagues in an stimulating environment where supervision, research, and clinical development are a natural part of everyday life. The education is divided between clinical work at Specialisttandvården Kaniken Uppsala and theoretical studies at Specialisttandvården Örebro.

The final structure of the specialist training will be determined in consultation between the trainee (ST), the main supervisor, and the business manager, taking into account the trainee's previous experience.

During your tenure, you will work with:

• Diagnosis, therapy planning, and treatment of referred patients
• Consultancy services
• Collaboration across dental disciplines and with healthcare services
• Scientific deepening
• Education/Teaching

Your Qualifications

Besides an interest in the subject area and clinical work, we would appreciate if you have a pedagogical interest in imparting knowledge to general dentistry and other parts of healthcare. Selection is made according to the NSATS merit evaluation system. Eligible applicants must be licensed dentists and have completed at least 2 years in general dentistry. Previous service in the subject area, side-training courses, diploma courses, scientific work, and pedagogical experience are meritorious. Personal qualities are also taken into account in the assessment.

We hope that you wish to work as a specialist within Specialist Dental Care Region Uppsala after completing your education. Start date is by agreement, but the education is planned to start after the summer of 2026.
