Make a Difference in Falkenberg Municipality – Summer Jobs in Care and Elderly Care

Here in Falkenberg Municipality, you can make a big difference. Our job is to offer good municipal services at all stages of life. We are also involved in developing Falkenberg as a place. Our vision is that we grow for a sustainable future.

150 positions available.

Job Responsibilities

We offer jobs in three different areas:

  • Specialized Housing: Housing for the elderly where they receive help in their daily lives. Here you work in a group but perform your own tasks. On the short-term ward, you work with users who are there for assessment, rehabilitation, respite care, or palliative care.
  • Home Care: The elderly live at home and need help in their daily lives. Here you work primarily on your own, but always have colleagues who can support you. The home care service also includes a security team that responds to security alarms from care recipients.
  • LSS/Functional Support: Housing or day activities for people with various disabilities. Here you usually work in a group with your colleagues, but can also work independently.

Those who match the needs of our operations will be invited to a group interview. During the interview, we will tell you about our different operations and have the opportunity to talk more with you both personally and in a group.

You will receive an introduction at your chosen workplace and shadow an existing employee so that you feel confident in your role before you start working.

If the units have a need, and you are interested in extra jobs, it may be possible to work even before the summer schedule begins.

Regardless of the operation, we offer varied work where you meet many people and have different tasks.

As a substitute in care and elderly care, you help people of different ages have a meaningful and functional daily life when regular staff are sick or on leave. Tasks may include helping with morning routines, personal hygiene, going on excursions, or encouraging and motivating care recipients in their daily lives.

All planning is in the mobile phone, so it is clear what you are expected to do, but the job may also involve situations that are not always predictable.

We need employees who can work days, evenings, weekends, or nights. Staff work awake or sleeping on-call to ensure that each user's individual routine and circadian rhythm are preserved.

You now also have the opportunity to express interest in weekend work! This means you get a schedule where you mainly work weekends. In return, you get a higher salary (overtime compensation) and more time off during the week. Perfect for you who want to combine work with studies, leisure, or other commitments.

Qualifications

It is a great advantage if you have education and experience in care and elderly care, but it is not a requirement. You need to have a desire to learn new things and develop.

There are clear routines that are important to follow to ensure good care for our users. You may, for example, be responsible for distributing medication. This requires great attention to detail.

It is important that you enjoy working with people. Our users need different types of help and treatment. You need to be sensitive to the users' needs and be good at collaborating with your colleagues.

  • You need to be able to take initiative and have the ability to prioritize when several things happen simultaneously.
  • You need to understand, write, and speak Swedish.
  • You need to be able to handle the IT systems necessary for the job, which requires computer literacy.
  • In several of our operations, you need a driver's license, but it is not required everywhere.

In connection with a possible employment in care and elderly care, you need to submit an extract from the criminal record. This is part of our routine to ensure safety and security in the operation. You will receive more information about this during the recruitment process.

You need to be 18 years or older. The age limit is set due to special regulations according to the Work Environment Act. Rules regarding the work environment for minors are regulated in AFS 2012:3.

Employment type: Summer job / Vacation work.
Duration: 3–6 months.
